Royal Fans commemorates HM The Queen’s Golden Jubilee with fans from the Royal Collection, the collection of HM Queen Margarethe of Denmark, the Helene Alexander Collection and fans from many other personal collections. The exhibition celebrates the connections between the royal houses of Europe and the ways in which they are deeply intertwined on a personal level. Many of the fans were gifts from one royal house to another, and were often included in trousseaux, having been crafted by the finest fan-makers of the day.
