COVID-19 Safety Measures

Find out more about safety measures in place at the Museum.

Preventative Measures

All surfaces, touchpoints and public areas of The Fan Museum are cleaned regularly with anti-viral and anti-bacterial cleaning products.

To ensure the Museum is adequately ventilated, doors and windows may be left open for part of the day. Please be advised that this is not always possible as we balance these measures with temperature controls for our sensitive collection objects.

Wherever possible, for the safety of all visitors and staff, we invite adults 16 and over to wear a face covering whilst inside the Museum.

On Arrival

Hand sanitiser and spare surgical face masks are available to all visitors. Audio guides are cleaned and dried between uses by members of staff.

We invite our visitors to take a lateral flow test before visiting, though the result of this does not need to be shared with Museum staff in line with GDPR regulations. The use of a NHS App Domestic COVID Pass is welcomed and appreciated.

Please note that these measures are used on a discretionary basis to best protect vulnerable staff and visitors and we acknowledge that there is no legal requirement to uphold them.

Visitors may, at any time, request more information about the measures and procedures in place by emailing the General Manager.
