The Fan Museum hosts a range of events across the year, be they digital lectures, in-person talks to accompany our temporary exhibitions or cultural events as part of our In Celebration! series.
All attendance to these events must be pre-booked and further information can be found in the More Details section of each event. For any access requirements that would optimise your experience, please contact the Museum Office and a member of our team will be more than happy to assist.

Join The Fan Museum in heralding the festive season with the return of a yuletide fan favourite.

Distinguished author and actor, Richard Holliss, in the persona of Charles Dickens, reads extracts from his works by candlelight, in an entertainment written by Wayne Adrian Drew.
The event takes place on Friday 19th December 2025, 6:00pm-9:00pm.

We hold regular fan making workshops on the first Saturday afternoon of each month from February until December. These sessions are conducted by an experienced tutor who will not only provide expert guidance, but also a wealth of knowledge about the history and craft of fans.
Please note workshop spaces are extremely limited and in high demand; we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.
